Sail to the Archipelago

Just a quick ferry ride away, the northern and
southern archipelagos are the perfect location to relax at sea. Enjoy the cool
breeze on the top deck as you pass by speed boats and kayakers hopping around
the islands. Once you make landfall, stress is strewn to
the wayside and the peaceful sounds of waves crashing against the craggy rocks
takes over. The northern archipelago is home to Hönö and Öckerö
which is teeming with quaint shops, relaxed restaurants, and adventurous
activities. Drive your car or scooter onto the ferry to navigate the islands.

In contrast, the southern islands of the archipelago, such as Brännö and Vrångö, offer a more serene atmosphere. No cars are allowed and bicycle is the optimal means of transport. Sprawl out on the rocks, go for a dip, and let
your worries melt away at this seaside paradise.

How to Get There: To reach the northern islands, take the Röd Express to the Lilla Varholmen ferry terminal. Bus 290 and 291 will take you straight to Hönö should you wish to bypass the ferry. Alternatively, the Saltholmen boat terminal will take you to the southern islands. Bus 114, tram 11, and tram 9 (summer only) can transport you to Saltholmen.
